Why Drivers in a Certain City Stink

So, I’m actually annoyed by the army asking dead soldiers to return to combat, but instead of discussing that (in depth at least), I think I’ll rant about drivers in a certain city.

First, for the serious rant. The army apparently used an old list and sent letters (which arrived right after Christmas) asking 75 officers who died in combat and about 200 wounded to return to active duty. Perhaps they should utilize some form of cross-checking (perhaps a list of all casualties) so this can never happen again. Yes, it was a mistake, and yes, dead people get credit card offers and calls from telemarketers. BUT, unless there was some form of freak accident, the deceased were not killed by the very people re-soliciting their services.

Moving on.

All the snow here is apparently confusing drivers. Whiteout conditions can be hazardous. However, drivers’ penchant for speeding and tailgating (65 – 85 mph, 4 – 5 cars all within 2 feet of each others’ bumpers) increases the likelihood of accidents. As does peoples’ tendency to STOP DRIVING in the MIDDLE of the ROAD if it’s raining/snowing hard. Right, I know you can’t see. So what makes you think the guy behind you can see you when you stop driving?? Let’s think that one through just one more time, shall we? Also, if it’s slightly slick outside, and you can reasonably drive 30 mph, why oh why are you only driving 15 mph? In the left lane? All the people passing you on the right are trying to tell you something. Oh, and one more thing. If there’s a double turning lane, and you want to make a U-turn, which lane would be best for you to be in? I’m sure we can all agree that the RIGHT turning lane (as opposed to the LEFT) is the WRONG LANE. Thank you, clueless driver from California, for providing the inspiration for that last tidbit of wisdom.

Good night, everyone.

Accidents happen there were soldiers names listed on the Wall who were not KIA or MIA/POW in Vietnam. When you are dealing with thousands of names and hundreds of units human error is bound to happen.
“…the deceased were not killed by the very people re-soliciting their services.”
Those soldiers weren’t killed by the people asking them to fight. They were killed by enemies of this country. If you assk almost every soldier, sailor, airman or marine they would give their life for the USA and their buddies. Don’t be sucked in by the anti-american crap that the media spews they only show the bad stuff, when there are mistakes or accidents. “If it bleeds it leads.” They should be censored until this war is over.

True, we’re not trying to show all the negative stuff, but I was kind of ticked to hear that these errors still happen with all the technology at our disposal. I was also kind of put off by that the mistake happened to 75 people (sure, accidents happen but 75 is just kind of high to me). I was thinking of the soldiers families when I read this, and how mad they must be.

And I’m with you about people complaining all the time about America. If they don’t like it here, too bad. :-D I don’t mind complaints every now and then though, it helps keep things in check. That said, I can’t wait until our boys come home from this war.
