There’s just something about walking down a quaint historic main street lined with buildings that makes me crave an ice cream cone. One nice place to stop in downtown Fredericksburg is Lee’s Homemade Ice Cream. The ice cream is all hand-scooped, rather than soft-serve, and there are several dozen yummy-sounding flavors to choose from. We recommend anything with Heath bar bits or a coffee flavor. The Swiss chocolate ice cream is particularly tasty – it’s like a cross between ice cream and frozen hot chocolate, resulting in a smooth, creamy and mild-but-still-satisfying chocolate ice cream. The cones were also fresh and crunchy.
