Denver Zoo Visit

Polar Bear Sign

Even though the weather was really crummy over the weekend, it was a great Easter and some good relaxation time. Louisa and I thought that it would be a great time for a public service message: IF YOU NEED THIS SIGN TO TELL YOU THAT POLAR BEARS ARE DANGEROUS, THEN WE (meaning: YOU!) ARE IN TROUBLE. Seriously, even though the bears look incredibly innocent and harmless, there should always be a mental switch that says “Hey… Maybe it wouldn’t be a good idea to jump in this cage!” Kids can be excused from this message, but be sure to teach your kids not to jump into animal cages if you are reading this. OK, I think I’ve ranted enough on the subject, so just enjoy the photo. :-)

You can find all photos from the Denver Zoo on the Photo Album page.

Castlewood Canyon Hiking Expedition

Today’s update consists of some photos and a GPS Tracklog from Castlewood Canyon State Park here in Colorado. Overall, it was a fun, but tiring trip. Because of the high water level, it was difficult to cross some areas of the creek in the inner-canyon. It also didn’t help that a bridge was out for a major crossing area… The only replacements were 2 planks going over the water. I wasn’t pressing my luck though, it looked like I would have to be 100 pounds lighter to cross successfully.

One item to note, the tracklog is not complete because of a freezeup I had with my GPS unit. Our starting and ending points should have been the same, but the log starts halfway through the park.

New Website and Photo Update

Yep, Louisa and I thought that it was time to change our website (not that you guys were getting used to Chronicgaming or anything…), so here is our new domain: Just Two Nerds. We thought that the title was more fitting than Chronicgaming, since there really isn’t much gaming on the site, since both of us are pretty nerdy. Most of the content has made it way over to the new server, but there are still a few things that I am still working on (stay tuned).

There is also a new photo update from our recent trip to Colorado National Monument last weekend. Check it out in the Photo Gallery!

I also posted a GPS Track Log of our trip. This link will take you to a Google Maps view (be sure to check out the satellite view).

Trip to Nebraska and Wyoming

Louisa and I posted some photos from a recent roadtrip that we took over last weekend. This trip took us to sites such as the Cabellas World HQ in Sidney, NE, Chimney Rock, Scotts Bluff National Monument, and Fort Laramie. Near the end of the trip, we got to see Register Cliff and some wagon ruts in eastern Wyoming. (The only thing missed was Carhenge… maybe next time.)
