Family Visit and Duck Pond

They are like a hungry zombie horde... except they eat bread instead.

Louisa’s parents drove down to the visit the weekend after Thanksgiving.  On Saturday morning, we decided to head to Kroger, pick up four loaves of bread, and then go to the Duck Pond.  The five dozen+ ducks sure seemed happy to see us.  They came running, flying, and quacking from all over to try to get some bread.  At one point, we fed a family of baby ducks so much that they all ran down to the water to drink.  We suppose the bread was a little dry for them.  Also, fortunately, we convinced Louisa that a little boy mallard who would gently peck her leg when he wanted to eat would not make a good pet.  We also discovered that some of the larger ducks have excellent eye-bill coordination, and can catch bread if it is tossed at them.
