Gray Jays are bold scavengers…
…and this one is no exception.
Louisa’s parents flew in for a great weekend of sightseeing…
Friday we headed out to the Macaroni Grill and Coldstone for ice cream. We then drove downtown where we got to see the Rockies’ stadium, where the World Series will be the next few nights. By then it was time to head back to the apartment, chat, and get ready for the next morning.
Saturday we drove up to Boulder and wandered around the CU campus. We then drove over to the Pearl Street mall, where we marveled at things such as oxygen bars and people playing the violin outside in the cold. We also had the chance to check out Flatiron Crossing, a very large and interesting mall just south of Boulder. We finished the day at Dinosaur Ridge, where we saw dino footprints and fossilized bones.
We spent all day Sunday up in the mountains, first at Loveland Pass where we got the chance to see some gorgeous mountain views, and then up at Rocky Mountain National Park. We took a nice walk through a meadow, where we were often followed by a very friendly Gray Jay (yes, that’s the bird’s name, not necessarily its color). We even got to hear it sing a little bit. We also got some great pictures of the snow-capped peaks.
Now that the fun and eventful weekend is coming to a close, we wish Louisa’s parents safe travel tomorrow. We shall see everyone in NY and PA again in a few weeks!
