Much of the country is having severe weather.  Blizzard-like conditions make driving perilous, ice hangs heavy from the branches, utilities are not functioning.  Hopefully you all have warm blankets and heaters, and at least have water and power.

We in Colorado feel your pain.**  Right now, our temperature has dropped from 65 degrees down to 44 degrees.  While this has no doubt been caused by the setting sun, that is still over a 20 degree drop in temperature.  We even had to close 2 of our windows, since the breeze was beginning to pick up.  So we extend a most heart-felt “I hear ya” as you complain about the 3 feet of snow, bursting water pipes, and icy drive that you are having.***

* no real data backs up this number, let’s just say that many people are having wintery conditions

** just to be clear, the above picture was taken in Buffalo, NY.  Right now we’re wearing shorts and t-shirts, but we figured that would be too demoralizing to include a picture like that in this post.

*** to paraphrase many people, “karma’s a b!tch.”  So I feel I should mention that this post was written with the intent to do nothing but send you the warm fuzzies, since our temperature can support that type of goodwill gesture.
