Restaurant review: Pizza Peddler (Natick)

I like pizza.  But I’m also kind of particular about it.  I like a good crust that’s golden and chewy, and has a good flavor; thin to pan-style (not cracker thin, but not deep dish either).  Sauce should be savory (not sweet, unless I’m getting a ham and pineapple pizza), and I like a lot of sauce.  I may or may not have been known to eat a bowl (a large, cereal bowl) of sauce with a helping of rolled bread.  But that’s neither here nor there.  Oh, and toppings.  I like mushrooms.  And garlic.  And meat; preferably pepperoni, meatballs, or good sausage.

I’d heard good things about Pizza Peddler.  Actually, I’ve heard great things about their subs and wraps (particularly the Buffalo chicken and Italian), but I wanted pizza.  Specifically, pizza with roasted garlic, mushrooms, and linguica, a Portuguese sausage that’s kind of like a mild, thick cut pepperoni.  In short, the pizza is great, I definitely recommend it.  The roasted garlic is pretty mild, I might go with the fresh garlic next time.  The linguica is a must-try, the mushrooms are fresh, and there’s a generous amount of mildly seasoned but wonderful sauce.  The crust is thin (very thin), but also good.  I’d recommend eating it NY style by folding it in half.  They’re also generous with the toppings, which is a huge plus.
