We love Thai food – and Tomi Thai in Windsor, CA, makes fantastic Thai food. The restaurant isn’t very large inside, so we were fortunate to have avoided the dinner rush. We started dinner with some Thai iced tea, which was very good, well-spiced and only slightly sweet; it reminded us of a sweetened iced chai, with milk. The presentation was beautiful, since the tea and milk formed two separate layers in the glass (prior to stirring, of course). Once we saw the care that went into our iced tea, we were pretty excited to see (and taste) the food. The food did not dissapoint. We started with shrimp wrapped in wonton wrappers and flash fried; it came with a sweet sauce for dipping and was fantastic. For dinner we got massaman curry (our favorite) with rice. Once again the food was fantastic, perfectly seasoned and very good. We couldn’t resist trying the sticky rice with fresh mango for dessert; the sweetness was nicely offset by the sesame seeds scattered on top of the dish. The mango was ripe and juicy. It was a wonderful introduction to both mangos and sticky rice. Words do not do the food justice, if you like Thai food we highly recommend this restaurant.
