We ventured over to John Harvard’s Brew House in Framingham for a Saturday night dinner. When we got there at 5:30 there weren’t any booths left, but there were plenty of tables (by 7:00 about 15 people were waiting, so it seems like getting there relatively early is a good idea). We started off with some warm focaccia and seasoned olive oil (fabulous) and a couple of beers. We sampled a slightly hoppy, golden spicy drink, and a dark Irish stout. Both were quite good and dangerously drinkable. For entrees we split the meatloaf and the smokehouse pizza, with smoked pork, bbq sauce, gouda, scallions, onions and bacon. The meatloaf and bbq dipping sauce we’d asked for on the side were quite good, but the pizza may have been the star of the show. It was smokey, loaded with toppings, and had a thin, crunchy/chewy crust which was quite good. We’d go back again for pizza and beer.
